Corey McPherson Nash Gives Back to Kids

WATERTOWN, MA August 17, 2001 - Corey McPherson Nash (CMN/ http://www.cmndesign.com), an integrated design firm providing branding, print and interactive communications, recently completed two pro-bono jobs for local non-profit organizations. CMN designed a Web site (http://www.mcsbhc.org) for the Massachusetts Coalition for School-Based Health Centers (MCSBHC) and brochure for From the Top. These accounts point to CMN's new streak of pro-bono work with the non-profit sector.

Operating as satellite clinics of hospitals and community health centers within schools, the MCSBHC brings primary care to the place where children spend the majority of their days - in school. CMN designed this site to allow busy parents and medical staff to access articles, guidance, and answers quickly through the use of color-coded information sections. A technically simple structure and minimum graphics keep the site easy to update and maintain for even the non-tech savvy. A cheerful color palette projects a warm and inviting tone.

"CMN had the right mix of design expertise and technical capabilities that we needed to create a site that artfully expresses the mission of the MCSBHC, bringing visibility and vitality to our goal of improving children's health," says Deborah Mutschler, Executive Director for the MCSBHC.

"These projects were special because they gave us a chance to use our skills to improve the public awareness of two organizations with truly altruistic goals, and have fun while doing it," says Dan Kennedy, Creative Director for CMN.

From the Top, the fastest growing program in public radio history, showcasing talent from pre-college aged classical musicians nationwide. Drawing upon the visual vocabulary CMN created for the logo, we designed a brochure that would appeal to both kids and parents as well as potential donors. Our solution was a uniquely square shaped brochure resembling an album cover, with a full-sized center pocket. Six different press inserts were designed to fit in the pocket allowing for a customized message. A color palette of deep yellow and blue taken from their logo enhances From the Top's brand identity.
