OFI Brochure Unifies Acquired Companies Under Brand Umbrella
WATERTOWN, MA May 5, 2003 -- Corey McPherson Nash (CMN/ http://www.cmndesign.com), an award-winning integrated design firm providing branding, advertising, print and interactive services, today announced it has completed a capabilities brochure for OFI Institutional Asset Management, the institutional investment management subsidiary of OppenheimerFunds, Inc.
OFI Institutional Asset Management services institutional investment clients and manages in excess of $5 billion in assets. The company was branded in 2002 following a series of mergers and acquisitions. The challenge presented to CMN was to unify the visual image of these various companies under the OFI Institutional Asset Management brand umbrella, while remaining true to OppenheimerFunds' overall corporate brand standards. "The financial services market is a vertical in which CMN has particular strength, with our portfolio including work for Fidelity Investments, New York Life Benefit Services and Liberty Mutual," said Phyllis Kido, CMN partner and creative director on the OFI Institutional Asset Management project. "It was an exciting challenge to create a piece for OppenheimerFunds that successfully pulled together so many distinct investment capabilities under one brand umbrella. We're pleased that response to the brochure from both OFI Institutional Asset Management and its clients has been so enthusiastic."
The CMN Solution CMN first reviewed the look and feel of various OFI Institutional Asset Management competitors. These companies typically followed a standard design formula: stock photography of business images printed on glossy paper. CMN's goal was to help OFI Institutional Asset Management stand out from the competition with an atypical design that presented a rich and sophisticated image. Each of the investment teams that came together to form OFI Institutional Asset Management had distinct product offerings. Their brands also had value with the existing customer base. To retain an element of brand value, as well as communicate the different investment capabilities of each of the OFI Institutional Asset Management companies, CMN developed a series of schematics to represent each of the companies investment processes. These schematics were then used as a communications tool throughout the brochure to describe the companies, their investment philosophies and their areas of expertise. The icons of the schematics are blind embossed on the brochure's front cover to give the piece a tactile sense and interesting look. CMN also used photographs of tree imagery as a metaphor to represent the breadth and strength of OFI Institutional Asset Management's services.
