Lesley College and Buckingham, Browne&Nichols Honors Continue CMN's Legacy of Outstanding Design for the Educational Market
WATERTOWN, Mass. -- September 10, 2003 -- Corey McPherson Nash (CMN/ http://www.cmndesign.com), an award-winning integrated design firm providing branding, advertising, print and interactive services, today announced it has won two awards recognizing its design work for educational institutions. CMN's design for Cambridge, Mass.-based Buckingham, Browne&Nichols's (BB&N) Viewbook was selected from among 22,000 entries from across the United States to appear in Print magazine's Regional Design Annual/2003, scheduled for publication in December. CMN's design for Cambridge, Mass.-based Lesley University's quarterly magazine, Lesley Magazine, was selected from more than 1,500 entries to receive an Award of Excellence from the University&College Designers Association (UCDA) in the alumni magazine category.
"CMN has a deep legacy of producing outstanding branding and design for educational clients, as evidenced by the many awards the firm has won throughout our 20 year history," said Andrea Naddaff, CMN partner and vice president of business development. "The education market has consistently been one of the studio's strengths. We're delighted to share these awards with our clients at BB&N and Lesley, and look forward to continuing to partner with educational clients to create branding and design strategies that meet their unique objectives."
For BB&N's Viewbook, part of the K-12 private school's admissions package, CMN worked to spotlight BB&N's unique qualities. CMN created an integrated set of materials that works at all grade levels, appealing to both parents and students. To clarify the different needs of different grade levels, CMN divided the Viewbook into two books, one for the Lower School and one for the Middle and Upper Schools. Both books feature unique color palettes and utilize boldly colored horizontal lines to represent the various "slices of life" a student can expect to experience at BB&N. The Viewbook is also populated with a variety of photos depicting the variety and richness of a BB&N student's life, including classroom scenes, sporting events and other extracurricular activities.
Lesley University's quarterly magazine, Lesley Magazine, is distributed to university alumni as a way to keep them up to date on the institution's activities. CMN has been partnering with Leslie University on the magazine for nearly 10 years and throughout that time has worked to strengthen and evolve the magazine to stay current with Lesley University's ongoing changes. CMN's mission is to develop each magazine in a creative way to add value to the articles via interesting stock photography, original illustrations and unique approaches, such as die cuts, that add freshness and energy to the publication. The two issues of the Lesley Magazine submitted by CMN will be displayed at the UCDA's annual conference in Boston, taking place this year from October 12-15.
Now celebrating its 20th year of business, CMN provides thoughtful design solutions for branding, print and interactive communications for clients including Forrester Research, Eastman Kodak, Clear Channel Communications and Cubist Pharmaceuticals, among others.
