McPherson Joins Prominent RISD Boston Alumni to Exchange Ideas on Business Success
WATERTOWN, MASS.-- SEPTEMBER 22, 2003 -- Michael McPherson, partner and creative director at Corey McPherson Nash (CMN/ http://www.cmndesign.com), an award-winning integrated design firm providing branding, advertising, print and interactive services, participated in a panel discussion entitled, "Entrepreneurial Exchange," sponsored by the Rhode Island School of Design's Boston Alumni Chapter, on September 10 at the offices of The Stubbins Associates in Cambridge.
The panel was comprised of 10 RISD alumni in the Boston area at various stages of their careers, sharing insights on success and overcoming career challenges. More than 150 RISD alumni attended the one and one-half hour discussion, which concluded with a question and answer session. Following the panel discussion, attendees viewed a display of work completed by the panel participants.
McPherson, a 1979 RISD graduate with a Masters of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, was selected to participate by RISD based on his excellent reputation in the design industry and proven success as a business entrepreneur over the course of many years. McPherson has also taught graphic design at RISD on a part-time basis for more than six years.
McPherson's work has received numerous national and international awards. He is a frequent contributor to design and marketing publications, has served as a juror for several distinguished design competitions and has presented at the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), University and College Designers Association, the American Institute of Graphic Artists (AIGA) and the Design Management Institute (DMI). McPherson is on the Advisory Council of the DMI and the Advisory Board of the AIGA Boston and teaches part-time at the Rhode Island School of Design. He is the recipient of the 2001 Fellows Award from AIGA Boston.
