Michael McPherson's Design Work Showcased at The Society of Printers

WATERTOWN, Mass. - June 14, 2005 - Corey McPherson Nash (CMN/ http://www.cmndesign.com), an award-winning integrated design firm providing branding, advertising, print and interactive services, today announced that CMN partner and creative director Michael McPherson's work will be displayed as part of the exhibit, "Boston Ink: A Century of Printing 1905-2005," installed at the Boston Public Library from April 5 through July 8, 2005.

At the turn of the last century, Boston was a hub of ideas, craft, and industry. The city helped to spur innovative printing. Today, the city is still a hub of the publishing industry, and with the blossoming of the digital century, the entire industry is in constant transformation.

The display of Michael's work includes everything from traditional book design, such as Medal Day at the MacDowell Colony, to branding guides for MTV and Nickelodeon to admissions and fundraising materials for Noble and Greenough School and Swarthmore College.

It is an honor to be a part of the Society of Printers' 100th anniversary exhibit and to have my work displayed at the Boston Public Library," stated McPherson. "The graphic arts community has grown so much over the past 100 years and the changes are astounding. I look forward to maintaining an active role in its evolution for many years to come."

This exhibit sets out to illustrate the history and traditions of printing and to foster excellence in the future. Visitors can see the books, broadsides, and ephemera that have distinguished Boston as a center of printing. Demonstrations of typesetting, printing, binding, and related book arts will also be held. Video kiosks recreate the sights and sounds of print shops and show how printing has moved into the digital age.
